Hi y’all! I’m a co-owner of Wish Upon a Star and a pediatric occupational therapist with 9 years of clinical experience. I’m originally from the small town of Salado, Texas, just up the road, and I’m grateful to now call Austin home.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Harding University and my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), graduating in 2017. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with children and families across a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, home health, and school-based services.
I have pursued additional training in areas I’m especially passionate about, including The AEIOU Systematic Approach to Pediatric Feeding (sensory-based feeding), Learning Without Tears (K–5 handwriting), neuroscience and self-regulation strategies for children with autism, ADHD, and sensory differences, pediatric neurodevelopmental disorders, pediatric yoga, and more.
My therapy style is rooted in connection, creativity, and functional play. I love modifying activities and designing playful, meaningful interventions that support each child’s unique goals. Helping children build independence while having fun and gaining confidence in everyday activities is what brings me the most joy.
Outside of work, you’ll find me paddle boarding, practicing yoga, cycling, running the trail, reading, exploring new restaurants, listening to live music, and spending time with my wonderful friends and family in this amazing city I’m lucky to call home.
Jena Krohn, MOT, OTR
Hello! I am a proud co-owner of Wish! I’m a native to the Austin area and grew up in Round Rock, Texas. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s in Community Health and received my Master’s in Occupational Therapy from The University of Texas Medical Branch in 2018.
I have certifications in Learning Without Tears (handwriting for K–5th grade), Neuroscience and Self-Regulation Techniques for Kids with Autism, ADHD & Sensory Disorders, Pediatric Feeding Disorders, and more. I’ve wanted to be a pediatric occupational therapist since high school and have spent my career in pediatric settings, including clinical, public school, and home health.
I love working with children as it allows me to be playful and active. I enjoy discovering what makes each child unique and brings them joy, then creating ways to build that into therapy through play. There’s nothing better than seeing a child grow in their independence and self-esteem by accomplishing meaningful tasks and activities. I cherish the relationships and trust I build with my kiddos’ families and am flexible and collaborative, as no one knows their child better. I foster a positive, comfortable, and meaningful environment for all those involved.
In my spare time, you can find me running, playing pickleball, or outdoors in the sunshine. I love to eat good food and dance to fun music. I am blessed with an amazing husband, our son, loving friends and family, and two silly cats, Benjamin and Nova.

Hi! I’m Rachel, a proud occupational therapist dedicated to helping children and families thrive. I grew up in Colorado, spending 18 years just outside of Boulder and another 12 years in Gunnison and Crested Butte for college, where I met my husband and fully embraced the mountain lifestyle. I’ve happily called Austin, Texas home since 2020 and love being part of this fun and welcoming community.
I earned my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Austin, graduating in 2023. My capstone project focused on maternal health and the role of occupational therapy in supporting and optimizing the transition into motherhood. I enjoy staying up to date with current research on health optimization to inform my practice, with special interests in exercise physiology and nutrition.
It has been a privilege to learn and grow alongside my pediatric clients. I have experience working with children of all ages in an outpatient setting and place a strong value on building meaningful relationships with both children and their families. Celebrating progressbig and smalland supporting children as they build confidence and independence in a fun, encouraging environment is at the heart of my approach.
Outside of work, I’m a busy mom of two wonderful children who keep life full of adventure. I enjoy CrossFit, running, yoga, and hiking, as well as spending time with my family camping, skiing, biking, and traveling to the beach. I also love walking my Dutch Shepherd, snuggling my two kitties, and getting creative through baking, painting, sewing, and crafting.
